Training programme

The international programme is unique in France: it is led by the Nantes Saint-Nazaire school of art in partnership with the higher education Schools of Art and Culture in Nantes and in French-speaking Europe. It offers a year’s tuition in French language, art and culture and prepares students for further studies in a French-speaking higher- education School of art, architecture or design. It is aimed at students who have finished High School (Preparation Course) and for those on a Bachelors' level (Equivalence Course).

The tuition is based on a programme of intensive French as a Foreign Language lessons and a introduction programme of Western history and culture from the 15th Century to the present day. Theory is reinforced by a study journey in Europe, including visits to leading museums and renowned cities. It also offers students appropriate support in the development of  personal projects within their area of expertise (art, architecture or design).

At the end of the first semester of artistic theory and practice, students are assisted by a multidisciplinary teaching team to draft their applications for competitive entrance examinations or equivalence tests. This preparation, including both group and individual coaching, helps students to produce a portfolio and a summary of their work. The expertise of the team involved in this multidisciplinary course creates the ideal conditions for students preparing for written and oral entrance examinations in the leading schools of French-speaking Europe.
