Nantes, Saint-Nazaire

Created in 1904, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire School of Art is located in the heart of a very active cultural and artistic region in France, just a two-hour train ride from Paris: it has a major Arts Museum, Le Voyage à Nantes, le lieu unique, the Frac des Pays de la Loire, the Grand T, Le Grand Café and le LiFE in Saint-Nazaire… All essential for preparing art students to become tomorrow’s artists.

With 300 000 inhabitants – of which 60 000 are students – Nantes is sufficiently large to benefit from an economic, artistic and cultural life which compares with other large European cities, but small enough to remain accessible.

Many former students from  Fine Art, Design or Architecture schools contribute to the rich and dynamic art scene in Nantes. Countless theatres, museums, galleries and concert venues make Nantes a unique and attractive city. Out of the top 5 French cities renowned for the quality in studies, Nantes is top of the list in terms of its environment, thanks to the extensive public transport system, cycle routes along the Loire and the Erdre rivers, parks, a campus in the city centre, as well as many more treasures.
